-Officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and their spouses can be members of DMEDD.
-A person not working at (or be retired from) the MFA, but having demonstrated a personal involvement and participation to the DMEDD activities and considered to be valuable to the Association can be accepted as a “Fellow Member”. Prospective fellow member has to fill out the related form and submit it to the approval of the Executive Board. (Please click to see the form). Fellow members have no right to vote and to be elected in the Association.

Eligibility and Conditions of DMEDD’s Educational Fund are:
1- Children of Martyrs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and/or members of other Ministries who were serving abroad are all eligible for DMEDD’s educational assistance till the age of 23 as long as they continue their education.
2- Children of diplomats from Ministry of Foreign Affairs who passed away while on duty are also qualify for DMEDD’s educational assistance as long as they continue to their education till the age of 23.
3- General conditions of eligibility for other categories approved by Executive Board are:
- Applicants have to have successful educational background
- Applicants have financial difficulties
- Only one of the parents of the Applicant has to be the Ministry official and no long-term appointment abroad (for MFA Applications)
DMEDD announces its annual scholarship every year on June within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After the end of evaluation process of all applications according to the specific criteria for each category, selected candidates are submitted to the Executive Board for further assessment and approval.
