Join Us in Celebrating the Centenary of the Republic of Türkiye with An Evening of Music and Folk Dance11.11.2023On the occasion of the Centenary of Republic of Türkiye, DMEDD organized an event to the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) on the first day of November titled “The short history of Turkish polyphonic music”. Our participants comprised of DMEDD and SHOM members, foreign representatives and Ambassadors in Ankara. Thanks to enjoyable and exclusive talk with Mr. Cem’i Can Deliorman, the chief conductor of Presidential Symphony Orchestra, followed by a musical surprise and whole tour of the building. African Handicrafts Market and Culture House Visit08.11.2023On 8 November 2023, DMEDD Chairperson Şebnem Akçapar and members of the Board visited the "African Handicrafts Market and House of Culture" which was opened under the auspices of H.E. Emine Erdoğan as a social responsibility project with the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the support of non-governmental organizations with the aim of selling the handicrafts made by African women in Turkey at the price they deserve without profit and sending the income to African women. History of Polyphonic Music on the 100th Anniversary of the Republic01.11.2023On the occasion of the centennial of the Republic of Türkiye, DMEDD organised "An Evening of Music and Folk Dance" on the historic main stage of the Museum of Painting and Sculpture with the attendance of more than 300 guests, including representatives of foreign missions in Ankara on 11th of November. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic, and the martyrs who have passed away were remembered with respect. Following the opening speeches by Prof. Dr. Şebnem Akçapar, 43rd Chairperson of the Board of Directors of DMEDD and Mr. Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event continued with a musical recital of Atatürk's most favourite songs and folk dance performances. The soloists Nahide Saygun Akkal and Turgut Karadeniz performed beautiful songs, while the Ankara State Modern Dance Ensemble under the direction of Soner Satı delighted the guests with traditional dances.
